Radiographic Testing - Level II 

Detailed Description

This course begins with a review of the basic Level I subjects and continues with a more in-depth presentation of how to control the variables to produce an acceptable radiographic image. Emphasis is placed on how to achieve high sensitivity through contrast optimization, definition, and film processing. The quality level of an RT image is established by devices referred to as “Image Quality Indicators,” or IQIs. The acceptability of the radiograph is determined by the image of these IQIs. Interpretation and evaluation of the radiograph - key elements of RT - are covered in depth.

This course is essential for those who have completed RT I and want to advance to a higher certification level.

NOTE: There is RECOMMENDED READING assigned at the beginning of the course. The completion of these reading assignments in addition to self-study is strongly encouraged and will add to the overall training benefit and time to be credited. It will also better prepare the student for the practical lab/“hands-on” session. We recommended that the student keep a log of self-study time, that the applicable Level III be involved and confirm that the reading and self-study assignments have been completed, and that both logs and confirmations become part of the student’s training records, which may be used in conjunction with subsequent certifications.
